Poppy Quilt: A Gift from the Other Side of the World

This beautiful Poppy Quilt will be display at the Dance
for Democracy on September 22nd starting at 6:00 pm
at the Brookhaven Community Center. Tickets may be

Anne Boren, from Picton, New Zealand crafted this beautiful quilt for Delaware County and the World War One Delco Centennial Committee.

The quilt (approximately 18" x 36") shows a poppy field in bloom and uses fine stitching and colorful fabrics in its interpretation.

The border is also painstakingly stitch along three sides with the words, “Reaching across the ocean to share memories of World War 1 heroes.”

The bottom of the quilt is stitched with “100th Anniversary 1917-2017,” and under that her name, “Anne Boren” and her friend and Penn State Master Gardener, “Kathryn Pelczarski.”
