Eddystone Plant Manufactured Rifles for American Forces in World War by Kurt Sellers

A  boiler and shavings vault occupied the westernmost end of the building adjacent to section 1.  A carpentry shop and staining facility  projected northward from section 4 forming an ‘L’ at the eastern end  of the  building. (click here for story)

Baldwin Locomotive Works Contributes to the Allies Fight in WW One by Kurt Sellers 

During World War I, the bays of the building contained different wood working functions.

The Eddystone Munitions Disaster of 1917 by Kurt Sellers 

The manufacture of artillery ammunition in Eddystone, Pennsylvania during World War I is forever associated with the fatal explosion of April 10, 1917.  Numerous articles have been written on this tragedy.   Less known are details of the ammunition plant itself and its subsequent role during the war.
